AWM Foundation and Hallmark Media “Make Her Mark” Scholarship Application

The AWM Foundation is partnering with Hallmark Media to support female students with a desire to pursue a creative career in entertainment through the Make Her Mark Student Scholarship. From the creators of Make Her Mark, an on-the-job mentorship initiative designed to support and increase representation of women behind the camera, this new scholarship aims to engage an aspiring female student in the early stages of their career and support their studies to best set them up for future success.

The chosen student will receive a scholarship to their educational institution for $7,500, payable to the winning student’s educational institution for the 2025 Fall semester, a ticket to attend the 50th Annual Gracie Awards Luncheon, June 18, 2025, in New York City (travel not included), and the opportunity for a one hour-long virtual mentorship session with Make Her Mark founder and Hallmark actor and creative partner Ashley Williams.

1 – A letter of recommendation from a professor or a journalism/media/communications professional,
2 – Proof of enrollment (a copy of your student id or transcript) and
3 – A sample of your work from a college class (this can be a link to a video, presentation, paper, article, etc.).

Scholarship Recipient Requirements and Deadlines:
Once chosen for the scholarship, the student will coordinate with Hallmark Media to schedule an hour-long virtual mentorship session with Make Her Mark founder Ashley Williams.

Scholarship Money and Recognition:
AWM Foundation and Hallmark Media will select one student winner to receive $7,500, payable to the winning student’s educational institution for the 2025 Fall semester, one complimentary ticket to the 50th Annual Gracie Awards Luncheon on June 18, 2025, in New York City (travel not included), and the opportunity for a one hour-long virtual mentorship session with Make Her Mark founder and Hallmark actor and creative partner Ashley Williams.

Additional Information:
This scholarship opportunity is open to any female undergraduate or graduate student attending an accredited college or university in the United States in 2025. This scholarship aims to engage aspiring female filmmakers in the early stages of their career and support their studies to best set them up for future success.
