2017 Board Slate
The AWM Nominations Committee has put forth the 2017 AWM Board of Directors Slate of Candidates. Please read below to learn more about the incumbent directors proposed to return to the AWM Board of Directors. INCUMBENT DIRECTORS PROPOSED FOR THE SLATE OF CANDIDATES
The following candidates are proposed to continue serving on the AWM Board of Directors:
- Josie Thomas, Executive VP and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, CBS Corporation
Josie Thomas is Executive VP and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, CBS Corporation. In this role, Ms. Thomas oversees the Company’s commitment to diversity across all of its businesses. She leads multidimensional diversity and inclusion strategies working with senior executives throughout the corporation to develop talent, diverse suppliers, outreach, advocacy group engagement and national industry impact. In addition, she is the executive sponsor of CBS’s employee resource groups, while spearheading the CBS Corporation Diversity Council. - Heather Cohen, Executive Vice President, The Weiss Agency
Heather Cohen is Executive Vice President of The Weiss Agency, a broadcast talent agency which represents and develops the careers of many of the industry’s most successful local and syndicated personalities. In 2013 Talkers Magazine awarded Heather with the prestigious “Judy Jarvis Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions to Talk Radio by a Woman,” also known as the “Woman of the Year” award. Radio Ink Magazine selected Heather as one of the 2014 & 2015 Most Influential Women in Radio. She is a 2015 recipient of Hofstra University’s George M. Estabrook Distinguished Service Award. - Laura Martinez, Senior Director of Affiliate Sales, Westwood One/Dial Global
Laura Martinez is the Senior Director of Affiliate Sales at Westwood One/Dial Global. Ms. Martinez coordinates efforts to increase programming affiliations and to maintain existing relationships. Prior to her role at Westwood One, she served as Director of Marketing and Sales at Radio Disney Denver where she developed sales and marketing strategies to gain exposure for the Disney Brand in Denver and increase revenue for the Walt Disney Company. - Susie Hedrick, SVP of North American Sales, WideOrbit
Susie Hedrick is SVP of North American Sales at WideOrbit, a provider of advertising management software for media companies, including 75% of US television stations and nearly 3,000 radio stations. Ms. Hedrick is responsible for all revenue from WideOrbit’s radio products. She moved from broadcasting to technology in 1998, working as Director of Products for applications used by over 35,000 broadcast professional.

Gayle Trotter is a columnist, political analyst and attorney who regularly appears on TV, such as on Fox News Channel’s The Kelly File and MediaBuzz, contributes to The Hill, The Daily Caller, Townhall and other well-known political websites, and is a frequent guest on radio shows across the country providing an insider’s view of Washington, DC. - Kelly Perdomo, Vice President – Sports, Entertainment, Content, and Partnership Marketing, SiriusXM Radio
Kelly Perdomo is a dynamic, high-energy, senior marketing/production executive with 17-year track record of success spanning in-house and consulting roles. Kelly has demonstrated leadership in fast-paced, multinational corporate environments (Sony) and high-profile entertainment organizations (SiriusXM Radio, MTV, VH-1, Warner Bros). In her career, Kelly has proven her ability to build custom, individual, brand-based solutions that deliver outstanding results and maximize return on investment. Kelly is currently Vice President – Sports, Entertainment, Content, and Partnership Marketing at SiriusXM Radio - Meg LaVigne, President of Television, Litton Entertainment
Meg LaVigne is President of Television at Litton Entertainment, the country’s leading independent television programming. LaVigne is responsible for several divisions in the company including television syndication, news and public relations. LaVigne is an Emmy-winning talk show host and was on-air talent for a daily live show, AM Boston. She is also a veteran broadcast and commercial announcer whose voice has been heard on a variety of shows ranging from Red Sox baseball games to The Three Stooges New Year’s Eve Marathon. Prior to television, LaVigne worked at WITS Radio as a producer and on-air announcer. She is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Foundation for the Blind. - Alison Rudnick, Vice President, Communications, HLN
Alison Rudnick serves as Vice President, Communications, HLN (formerly CNN Headline News). Based in New York, Rudnick has held this position since 2014. In this role, she is responsible for directing executive and brand strategy, external and internal messaging and crisis communications. Returning to HLN in 2011, Rudnick oversaw the public relations efforts for network milestones, including morning anchor Robin Meade’s 15th anniversary, the infamous Casey Anthony trial and re-positioning HLN (twice) in five years. Rudnick began her career at CNN in 1996, and has taken opportunities at WNBC, WNJU, Discovery and CNBC. - Jinny Laderer, Co-Founder & President, vCreative
Jinny is the leader of a growing technology company, vCreative, that services over 4,000 local radio, digital & TV stations, networks, and national media companies with cloud-based workflow solutions. She is also an advocate of women’s causes. She has been involved with MIW & AWM since 2008 and has been a judge for The Gracie Awards. Jinny is a Co-Founder and Board of Director for a non‐profit that rescues preteen and teen girls out of sex trafficking in Honduras. She also serves on the board of her local church. - Christina Barlowe, Principal Media Consultant, NextMedia Partners
Christina Barlowe is a dynamic, senior executive with a versatile background in marketplace development, strategic sales and applied technology. She has a proven track record in her ability to develop, serve and lead cross-functional teams to drive change throughout an organization, resulting in strategic business initiatives that generate revenue and manage operational expense. Christina is currently the Principal Media Consultant at NextMedia Partners, LLC, focusing on the intersection of evolving network and computer technology to deliver communications, information and entertainment products with exceptional user experiences.
These incumbent and new directors will join the following current directors, a prestigious group of media industry leaders: Sarah Foss (Chair), Christine Travaglini (Chair-Elect), Keisha Sutton-James (Treasurer), Kristen Welch (Past Chair) and Karla Ballard Williams.
