The AWM Member Networks is an exclusive networking group and is the perfect way for members to connect, meet, and discuss topics of interest to them in their career as well as to make connections across all the media verticals we represent (radio/audio, television and digital).
The January meeting will be announced soon. Notes from the November 14, 2024, Network Meeting: Guest speaker Christine Moran, Creator Economy and Media Executive and member of the AWM Board of Directors, discussed the “Creator Economy” – what it is, how it works, and where it is going in the future. During the discussion, Ms. Moran talked about how creators make money (advertising, brand deals, affiliate marketing, licensing, subscriptions, etc.), how the creator economy has grown over the past 20+ years into a now $250B market (projected to be $500B by 2027), and how creators who have found success on social media are now creating media companies, consumer brands, and becoming “stars.” To view the recording, please visit the AWM Knowledge Center.

She discussed the joys and challenges of doing communications for a news organization, including how to stay cool when things and people around you are under huge stress, the need for developing trust, and how mentors and having a partnership attitude are important. Notes from the June 13, 2024, Network Meeting: We were joined by guest speaker Kenetta Bailey, SVP of Marketing for Clear Channel Outdoor. Ms. Bailey shared her career path and discussed the value of networking and non-profit board participation. Some key takeaways from the discussion include the three tools to help you network – know your story, have an idea of what you want out of the relationships you build, and have something to offer your connections in return. And a great way to expand your network is by joining a non-profit board that serves a mission you believe it. This will help you meet new people, develop skills, and allow you to give back.

Notes from the March 28, 2024, Network Meeting: The Content Creators Network members participated in a dynamic presentation by Rachel Neel, Vice President of New Content at Lemonada Media. Ms. Neel shared the ins and outs on the creation of the Gracie Award winning podcast, Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The members in attendance were given a sneak peek behind the curtain and listened to behind-the-scenes audio not previously aired. After the meeting, the Network co-leader Jennifer Seelig said, “Rachel Neel is a supremely talented content creator.
